Agriculture
Food & Beverage
Buildings in the agricultural and food/beverage industry often require large clear spans for packing, sorting, washing, storing processing, etc. Often insulated metal panels (IMP) and/or interior wall and ceiling liner panels are used to give the interior of the building a washdown surface for cleanliness and easy cleanup. Buildings are most commonly pre-engineered steel, occasionally with sections of conventional steel (office mezzanines, architectural features, etc).
Past Colony Agriculture, Food & Beverage Projects
The way that Colony can add the most value to a building project is to get involved as early as possible in a Design-Assist partnership. We assign a preconstruction manager during the design phase to attend all design meetings with the owner and consultants in order to provide input on constructability, costs, and schedule. In order to build a fully transparent partnership, we estimate the construction in an open-book fashion showing all costs and our associated fee (similar to a Construction Management deal). We then tender all scopes to sub-trades, make final sub/supplier selections together and lock into a fixed price to deliver the construction as the prime contractor.
Design-Assist
The Colony Way
We estimate the project transparently showing all costs and our fee. This allows us to work together as allies to tender all designs and trades and value engineer the project to meet your budget prior to proceeding. Then we lock into a fixed-price contract to build it for you.
Having the builder hire and manage the architect and all design consultants produces a much more efficient and cost-effective design.
